While María Corina Machado proposes turning Venezuela into a mining and energy enclave designed for transnational plunder—condemning the working class to survive on crumbs—Nicolás Maduro is offering Trump "everything" to perpetuate his illegal hold on power. Both are vying for the support of those who threaten our people.

Faced with the militarization of the Caribbean, the real threat of direct US intervention, and the growing restriction of democratic freedoms within the country, the Communist Party of Venezuela (PCV) reaffirms that the Venezuelan people should not have to choose between their oppressors. Neither Machado's interventionist and warmongering plan nor Maduro's subservient authoritarianism represents a way out for the nation."
